On behalf of our Client in the Extractives sector, we are looking for competent individuals fill the following position:
Job Title: Site Customs Coordinator
Reporting to: Surface Logistics Coordinator
Department: Logistics in Support to Operations

Activities
• Coordinate site customs activities through supervision and monitoring performance of the Regional and International Freight Forwarders through strict adherence to general Compliancy to customs regulations
• Monitor and coordinate with the Service providers to ensure that On Site Traffic Control center fully functional as per the scope to ensure that 360 degrees visibility on all shipments in transit is achieved.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Track Trace systems managed by the service provider is fully functional as per the scope to ensure that 360 degrees visibility on all shipments in transit is achieved.
• Review all shipping documents and customs declarations/entries and all entries made in Asycuda world system to ensure that shipments are released from the bond
• Monitoring and evaluating work performance of customs agents by establishing performance standards as per the KPIs.
Ensure that the Customs Bonded facilities on site are managed well as per the Company rules and Customs Regulations
• Conduct audits of Customs agents and ensure that their operations comply with Company procedures and customs regulations
• Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliations and submit the report to Hierarchy

Accountabilities
HSE
• Ensure and promote Safety and compliance with standards and procedures and implement on site periodic Safety campaigns especially for road transportation.
• Continuously analyze risks, ensure the logistics means for project & affiliate emergency plans are operational. Cost Control and Budget
• Monitor and optimize the cost of logistics operations (especially transportation), as per Company initiatives (LEAN, ,3 C). Feedback and Lesson Learned
• Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to different entities for continuous improvement of procedures, contractors and consolidation of KPIs/CPIs.

Background Required
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Professional Experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Logistics, Clearing and Freight Forwarding at Supervision level.

Technical Competencies
Training and certification in the Asycuda System. The applicant should have successfully passed and used the URA ASYCUDA course for at least five years,
• Extensive knowledge in ASYCUDA World, HSC Code, SCT and new developments in the East African Customs Regulations
• Good command of English knowledge and experience in ERP systems including SAP and database management including MS access, word, project, excel.

• Able to: work under pressure and stressing conditions, in autonomy, adapt, Communicate and integrate in different environment.
