Job Description


The Capacity Development Technical Advisor is responsible for the quality of training in the project and will coordinate training functions in the USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi regions.
Training materials and curricula responsive to USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi regions’ activities designed Database of trainers for different competency areas developed and maintained Database of trainees developed and maintained Capacity development activities coordinated and supervised USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi regional project capacity development needs identified; activities planned and implemented
Capacity development workplans/budget managed and developed.
Capacity Development reports prepared and submitted in time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Design and coordinate development of training materials and curricula responsive to the needs of
the USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi region project activities.
Develop and manage a database of trainers for different competency areas within the project.
Coordinate and supervise capacity development activities related to USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi Project. Provide technical assistance on training, mentorship and coaching for different competency areas within the project. Liase with other project team leaders to identify and plan capacity development activities. Participate in the development and design of the HIV and AIDS National policy guidelines, curricula and training materials.
Make progress, quarterly and annual reports for both donors and institutional capacity assessment and progress.
Develop and continuously up-date guidelines and procedures for capacity development in the USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi region project.
Participate in the provision of training and technical support to service delivery units on issues of
adherence to the policies and guidelines relating to project work.
Develop and manage workplans/budgets for the capacity development section;
Participate in the documentation of USAID LPS-Ankole/ Acholi region best practices for
publication.
Prepare and submit Capacity Development, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in time.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Clinical background including Clinical Medicine or Nursing is a MUST; with a Master’s in Public Health desired.
Broad knowledge and understanding of the national and regional HIV situation
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with other stakeholders Training in the Consolidated National HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Treatment Guidelines Training in the National TB Prevention, Care and Treatment Guidelines Training of Trainers (TOT) Certificate is mandatory Training in HIV/AIDS Counselling is desired
Minimum Experience and Exposure: Six (6) years’ experience in training and capacity development
Other Qualities/Attributes: Analytical mind, Innovativeness, Sound judgment, Integrity, Emotional control, Confidentiality.
