The Role
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the purpose of this post is to Plan, Repair, Maintain and Support IT infrastructure in the organization as well as implement MSU information Technology Policy.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain System Security, manage and monitor user access control & rights, in line with the Organization IT policy and operation guidelines
• Monitor Network Performance, detect, diagnose, and repair problems in line with the Organization IT policy, operation guidelines and best practice.

• Maintain database systems infrastructure in a functional and secure state to facilitate business continuity as well as writing database documentation, data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary.
• Design and develop advanced database querying solutions including SQL stored procedures and triggers
• Daily and/or Weekly Backups of all data, systems, and databases and related MSU information•
• Training of organization staff; provide first level support to users in line with the Organization IT policy and operation guidelines
• Maintain appropriate logs and inventories, including an inventory of all IT equipment, consumables, servicing and repairs, and a log/diary of all support calls and responses
• Report to the project managers on projects performance by periodically compiling project performance data from the systems.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management
• Installation, monitoring, maintenance of software and hardware of the Organization.
• Maintain workstations, servers and IT equipment through system diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and upgrade of systems in line with the Organization IT policy and operation guidelines.
• Training and supervising data entry personnel on all claims data management activities on Claims Processing Systems support.
Qualifications and Experience:
• University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
• Ability to work in heterogeneous IT environments.
• Proficiency in use of office automation applications such as Adobe, MS Office, Vision Excel, etc
• Professional qualifications in either Networking (CCNA) or Systems Administration (MCSE or MCITP ) and
• Database Administrations (MSCSQLP or MSCDBA) is an added advantage
• Excellent knowledge and skills of working Microsoft SQL Server & MySQL databases.
• Good knowledge and skills in use of various operating systems such as MS Windows & UNIX/Linux
• Knowledge in Active Directory/LDAP management & MS Exchange mail system administration
• Good knowledge of information security, web management and firewall administration
• Knowledge of Family Planning an added advantage
• Fluent English both oral and written.
