JESA/HR/PDN/18: INTAKE OPERATOR (04 VACANCIES)
Job Summary
Receive, handle storage of raw milk, sanitation of equipment, trucks, lines, and operating area.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Prepare raw milk intake line, silo tanks, and operate receiving pump and storing raw milk until required for processing before 24 hrs.
• Checks that vehicles are properly docked in at the intake and stoppers are in place
• Document and record raw milk intake details (Name of approved suppliers, load, temperature, silo filled, CIP, shipment records) for use in accounts and payment. This includes Manual GRN (Good received note), and warehouse receipt generated from E – SYSTEM accounting (Microsoft dynamics Navision).
• Ensuring that offloaded raw milk is stored at the right temperatures below 5 degrees and monitored for proper working of agitation.
• Carry out pre-operation checks on raw milk silo tanks cleaning and sanitation to control cross contamination of received milk.
• Comply with FIFO, basing on Quality control results and times of offloading milk into Silo tanks.
• Follow up with the production plan and daily purchase orders of suppliers on volume of raw milk to be received and off loaded
• Liaise with milk Extension and purchase department in case of failure to offload supplier contracted daily volume, for purpose of informing suppliers in time and control of next day receiving.
• Liaise with the quality team in ensuring quality assurance (testing and selecting milk silos, communication of identified quality risks, etc.)
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualification Diploma in Food Science and or Food Processing obtained from an internationally recognized institution.
Working Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience.
