Job Description
The Contact Tracing Officer will be in a charge of contact tracing to all contacts of confirmed pulmonary TB patients and children in Amuria, Bukedea, Kaberamaido, Kalaki, Kapelebyong, Katakwi, Kumi, Ngora, Serere, Soroti.
S/he will be responsible for planning, supervising and implementing project activities and strengthen partnerships in the assigned 10 districts in line with UHRN and donor policies and guidelines.
The Contact Tracing officer will ensure contribution towards reduction in HIV/TB new infections among targeted populations within the 10 districts of implementation. The contact tracing officer will operationalise the project scope of work in the district and data management systems processes and guidelines.
Roles and responsibilities
• Timely development and tracking of the project workplans and reporting
• Mentoring and supervision of community-based health care workers in the implementation of TB/HIV activities
• Closely work with the District HIV and TB focal persons in identifying and linking clients to HIV/ TB treatment and care
• Track all HIV/TB coinfected patients and retain them in care
• Coordinate and monitor the effective referral systems of HIV and TB patients to ensure integration of TB/HIV services within 5 districts
• Participate in all HIV/TB coordination meetings both at the district and community level and provide update as required
• Work with the district HIV and TB focal persons and facility in charge to support regular updates to stakeholders regarding implementation of the project
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, Development Studies, Public Health, law or related field.
• A minimum of three years’ experience working with rural communities, partners including local government and HIV TB related activities
• Experience in Contact Tracing
• Knowledge of TB and sputum collection
• A person with a Diploma with experience in contact tracing for over five years is encouraged to apply
• A person from Lango region districts is high encouraged to apply
• Able to ride a motorcycle

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and networking skills
• Knowledge of HIV/TB health service standards
• Knowledge of HIV/TB health service standards
• Demonstrate ability to work with various partners including local governments, CBOs and other NGOs
• Good report writing and presentation skills coupled with good knowledge of MS office programs, excel and power point
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Knowledge of the project area and willingness to reside in the project location
• Experience with working with the district leadership
• Experience in riding a motor cycle will be an added advantage
