Job Description


Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) is a Faith and Community-based organization providing holistic care to extremely vulnerable people living with HIV/AIDS. ROM holistically focuses on the body, mind, family and community wellbeing.

In partnership with World Education Initiative/Bantwana, we are implementing the USAID Integrated Child and Youth Development Activity (ICYD) in Kampala District. The Activity aims to ensure Uganda’s children and youth, especially girls and the most vulnerable, are well prepared to lead resilient, healthy, and productive lives. The activity will support interventions that lead to three outcomes:
1. Children have improved learning outcomes.
2. Children are safe and healthy in their community and learning environments.
3. Youth practice positive behaviours and make informed decisions about their lives and relationships.

We are therefore looking for motivated and competent individuals to join our amazing team and fill the following vacancies.
Job Title: Data Clerks (10)
Reports to: M&E Assistant
Location: All Division (2 per Division)
Job summary
The Data Entrant will maintain the ICYD database by compiling the data provided to him/her by the field team.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Responsible for the management of the ICYD Activity database system at the Division level.
• Conduct extensive database-related verification checks on the data for accuracy, completeness, and quality according to the existing procedures and guidelines.
• Regularly update integrated OVC registers and referral registers at the Division level.
• File all service provision forms into their respective household case files after entry in the database.
• Ensure confidentiality of OVC information and storage under key and lock.
• Conduct data entry of the forms collected from the field, scan the forms and maintain the physical and digital archives ensuring back up procedures are in place and done regularly.
• Prepare timely periodic and ad-hoc reports.
• Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues; Ensuring health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate should hold a diploma in Statistics, ICT or Computer sciences.
• At least 2 years’ experience in data management.
• Fast typing skills, Knowledge of touch-typing system is strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
• Demonstrate basic understanding of databases, strong numerical and analytical skills, good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and presentation skills
