Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) is a Faith and Community-based organization providing holistic care to extremely vulnerable people living with HIV/AIDS. ROM holistically focuses on the body, mind, family and community wellbeing.

In partnership with World Education Initiative/Bantwana, we are implementing the USAID Integrated Child and Youth Development Activity (ICYD) in Kampala District. The Activity aims to ensure Uganda’s children and youth, especially girls and the most vulnerable, are well prepared to lead resilient, healthy, and productive lives. The activity will support interventions that lead to three outcomes:
1. Children have improved learning outcomes.
2. Children are safe and healthy in their community and learning environments.
3. Youth practice positive behaviours and make informed decisions about their lives and relationships.

We are therefore looking for motivated and competent individuals to join our amazing team and fill the following vacancies.
Job Title: IT Assistant (2)
Reports to: IT Officer ROM
Location: Nakawa

Job summary
The IT Assistant will plan, repair, maintain and support information technology infrastructure as well as the implementation of ROM Information Technology Policy among the ICYD activity team.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Maintain System Security, manage and monitor user access control & rights, in line with the ROM IT policy and operation guidelines
• Monitor Network performance, detect, diagnose, and repair problems in line with the ROM IT policy, operation guidelines and best practices.
• Regularly backup all data, systems, and databases.
• Maintain appropriate logs and inventories of all IT equipment, consumables, servicing and repairs.
• Install, monitor and maintain software and hardware of the ROM.
• Test new equipment, applications and provide feedback.
• Maintain workstation server and IT equipment through system diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and upgrade of systems in line with ROM IT policy and operation guidelines.
• Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues; Ensuring health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting IT function in a busy organization preferably under PEPFAR/USAID programs.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of various operating systems, information security and web management are key.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and be self-driven.
