Job Description


Working in Collaboration with the Study Coordinator and the Expanded IPC study team, the Data Collector will assist in collecting and processing research data from stakeholders in Health facilities as appropriate to the study, using electronic data collection tools and in accordance with specified protocol and procedures.

Core duties and responsibilities:
• Actively participate in a training on study-specifics and ethical procedures
• Travel to eligible health facilities and work closely with health care workers for the entire study duration
• Collect data from facility stakeholders including managers and focal persons in accordance to the protocol
• Verify data in accordance with the study data management standard operating procedures (SOPs), and uploads the data onto the server
• Ensure that data collected is accurate, complete, properly handled and uploaded in accordance with study SOPs and confidentiality stipulations
• Perform any other job-related duties reasonably assigned.

Required qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a health related field from a recognized institution.
• Candidates with a diploma in Nursing, clinical medicine but with strong experience in collecting health related research data may apply
• Prior experience in research involving facility stakeholders,
• Experience in research methods and data management
• Basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft word processing software, spreadsheets
• Must have passed both English and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level
• Knowledge of MOH Public and PNFP facility operations, HMIS tools and registers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Able to travel and work for long hours
• Able to work in facilities located in any part of Kampala and south Buganda Sub regions
• Ability to speak Luganda is an added advantage
