Job Description
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CORSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission).
CORSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability
CORSU seeks to employ professionally suitable and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions:
Position: Medical Officer (1)
Department: Medical Directorate
Reports to: Head of Department
Overall Job Purpose:
The post holder will appropriately admit, manage, discharge and follow up of patients presenting to CORSU hospital within the expectations and limits of medical knowledge and clinical experience.
• Detailed Roles and responsibilities (refer to the JD on CORSU website)
• Academic/Professional qualifications, work experience, knowledge & skills University degree in medicine & surgery
• Completion of internship and registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioner’s Council (UMDPC) as medical doctor
• Special Interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Orthopedics surgery will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of one year’s work experience in a medical setting
Punctual, reliable and flexible person able to handle on-call requirements
• Good computer knowledge and skills
• Excellent communication, presentation and social skills.
• Knowledge of more than one local language is desirable
