Reporting to: Country manager in Uganda

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and working towards/completed the ACCA qualification or equivalent. Two to three years industry experience required.

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive accountant to join our new fast growing team in Uganda. The role would best suit an all-rounder that is able to juggle a variety of different tasks from bookkeeping, financial management to strategy formulation.

Responsibilities

• Accounting/Bookkeeping

1. Daily reconciliations of entity transactions
2. Preparations of monthly accounts
3. Assist with the annual audit
4. Annual budgeting
5. Manage creditors and bill payments

• Taxation

1. Manage the payroll function
2. Lodge and reconcile indirect taxes (Payroll and VAT)
3. Liaise with Uganda Revenue Authority where required

• Other

1. Assist with collections
2. Advise the management team on spending decisions
3. Manage cash flow and external financing where required
