KaCyber is looking to hire an expert web developer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and evolving the web applications in the Cloud. Our Web developers are expected to understand the core AWS services and apply best practices regarding security and scalability. They will also be responsible for both front-end and back-end web development, including the implementation of themes and plugins with a Major goal of creating secure, attractive, and user-friendly websites exceeding client specifications.

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who will work in coordination with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our client’s next-generation websites and web tools. You must be comfortable working as part of a team while taking the initiative to take lead on new innovations and projects. You must as well be knowledgeable about Web hosting services and has in-depth expertise in web technologies such as WordPress, CSS, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and Angular. Expert knowledge of Python is an added advantage!

Responsibilities

• Revise, edit, proofread & optimize web content.
• Work with cross-functionally to enhance the overall user experience of our platforms.
• Own various design tasks involved in the web development life cycle from start to finish.
• Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Migrate our infrastructure with zero downtime to a highly available, scalable one.
• Define service capacity planning strategies.
• Implement the application’s CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stack.
• Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar.
• Meeting with clients to discuss website design and function.
• Designing and building the website front-end.
• Creating the website architecture.
• Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
• Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conducting website performance tests.
• Troubleshooting content issues.
• Conducting WordPress training with the client.
• Monitoring the performance of the live website.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software engineering, or a similar field.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery. At least 1 – 2 years’ of experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficiency in at least one server-side technology (Java, PHP, NodeJS, Python)
• Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git, and SVN.
• Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
