Job Description


The Government of Uganda through MakRIF has provided funding for a project, Using the Internet to Incentivize Healthy Lifestyle Choices in Uganda. The aim of the project is to inform, educate and communicate about NCDs through the medium of a website which will provide well-researched, unbiased evidence-based information to motivate, empower and support readers to make healthy lifestyle choices targeting healthy weight, healthy eating, fitness and generally healthy lifestyle, to prevent NCDs. The project is seeking a part-time Project Assistant/Coordinator to support project activities including a research study.

The Project Assistant/Coordinator reports to the PI and Co-PIs, of the project.
His/her duties are divided into two main roles:
a) Administrative support
• File and manage records of all information related to the project
• Coordinate project activities and track progress of project activities
• Handle logistics related to the project
• Support event organisation
• Document/take minutes at meetings and other activities
b) Research assistant
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the website by tracking users and through the pre-post survey
• Data analysis
• Report writing/presentation
• Support the Core Team in the management of the website

Required qualification and skills
• Registered for Masters in Applied Human Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Word Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. iii. Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills; blogging and social media (Twitter, Facebook) an added advantage
• Ability to solve problems
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Interpersonal skills
