Job Summary:
The Production and Marketing Assistant will provide support to ensure the successful implementation of livelihoods and other cash-based interventions, including agricultural
development, market, and business development, E-voucher, VSLA and environmental protection and conservation. The incumbent plays a key role in the field with community mobilisation, beneficiary and vendor registration and verification, and post distribution monitoring using Mobile Monitoring Technologies (MMT) and complaints handling. He/she will also be responsible for provision of agro-inputs, data collection during surveys, commodity quality control and support to field activities.

Position Responsibilities and Duties
• Identification, registration, and verification of beneficiaries for both production and marketing/ livelihoods and Cash and Markets interventions.
• Effectively implement the day-to-day activities according to approved work plans and technical standards.
• Assist in trainings of target beneficiaries under the production and marketing/ livelihood activities.
• Actively participate in trainings at field level and establish producer group demonstration sites.
• Actively mobilize beneficiaries for various activities as required.
• Work closely and coordinate project activities with sub county agricultural extension worker.
• Identify crop pests and diseases and advice producer group members on control measures.
• Link farmers to producer groups members to input and output markets.
• Utilize existing market linkages developed by the DINU/LEWA project to facilitate market linkages to producer groups /farmers.
• Identify new opportunities for business linkages between producers, and lead buyers to support access to and participation in high value markets.
• Facilitate linkages to service providers including financial services.
• Support linkages to relevant technologies/extension services that improve productivity and value addition.
• Monitor and document DCA’s production and marketing/ livelihood activities.
• Participate in Zonal, Parish and Sub County coordination meetings.
• Produce reports to contribute to the weekly, monthly, and other reports

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusinesses or any equivalent from a recognized academic institution is required.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong ability in agronomy, agricultural markets and value chain development, business planning, understand about market system change, Knowledge of Nutrition and family planning, flexible, self-initiative.
• At least three years of working experience with VLSAs, IGAs and farmer producer groups.
• Experience working in refugee settlements and host communities.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) with ability to work with data bases.
• Understanding digital data collection using mobile monitoring technology (MMT).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to write good reports.
• Understanding of the West Nile context and local languages will be an added advantage.
• The position requires frequent field travel by motorcycle; therefore, the applicant Must be able to ride Motorcycle and possess a valid riding permit.
