Chief Commissioning Engineer- Engineering Project Team
Location: Kampala, Albert Lake production installation base or other cities in Uganda if required.

Primary function:
• Responsible for developing and implementing the commissioning strategy and plan and be able to assess risk and make control measures during commissioning.
• Train and instruct the operator to be competent to coordinate and do commissioning.

Responsibilities:
• Making improvements and offering advice on operational procedures.
Evaluating critical processes and making control measure for safety condition.
• Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines. Making commissioning more effective and smoothly.
• Ensuring that equipment works to its specification and judging its specification that meets design requirement.
• Creating and carrying out test procedures and controlling risk of process.
Evaluating function test and criteria, which meet the project requirement. Investigating problems, diagnosing, and repairing faults, troubleshooting.
• Liaising with installation/ project engineers. Making no gap between construction, installation and commissioning.
• Supervising engineering and technical staff to work in properly procedure and have a clear interface between them.
Writing reports and documentation of commissioning.
• Making a dossier for commissioning documents.
• Registering document coming in and sending out and having a good archive.
• Providing technical support to operators and instructing operators to following procedures during commissioning.
• Assessing Risk of commissioning and making control measures.
• Ensuring safe working conditions for commissioning.
• Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
• Making sure commission workers to follow maintenance and operation manual.
• Well preparation for commissioning including human resource, financial, material/facilities, and procedure/instruction.
Assisting and supporting production team to be ready for startup (RFSU) and startup.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or chemical engineering or the related.
• At least 15 years similar experience preferably in a professional engineering background e.g. petroleum or chemical industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, instrumentation etc., including 8 years’ experience in similar roles in the oil & gas industry and at least 3 years experiences of supervisory role.
Working at construction, installation, commissioning and at least working for three engineering projects as Engineering coordinator or engineering planner.

Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of petroleum engineering or petro-chemical engineering. Extensive knowledge of construction, installation and commissioning.
• Extensive knowledge of safety on oil and gas industry.
