Ngora Freda Carr (COU) Hospital was founded in 1922 and belongs to Church of Uganda, Diocese of Kumi. Our Vision is A Christ centered institution providing holistic quality health care services and Mission is to promote health, prevent and eliminate suffering due to disease and train competent professionals Christ being our help. The governance of the Hospital is governed by a Board of Governors (BOG),
The Hospital operates as a private, Not- for-Profit Health Institution, it provides a variety of services, both on outpatient and inpatient basis. The hospital runs Nurses and Midwives training at both certificate and diploma levels

PRINCIPAL
Job title : Principal
Location : Ngora Hospital School of Nursing & Midwifery .
Reports to : Medical Director
Purpose of the job:
To oversee all operations of the school of Nursing and Midwifery and create a safe learning and teaching environment and set performance goals both for students and teachers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Guides, coordinates and determines the educational plans and programmes within the Limitations set by the education authorities and the Governing Council.
Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the teaching programmes and activities of the staff and students to ensure their proper and harmonious implementation.
• Ensures proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the institutional activities resources.
• Participates in the relevant sector reforms.
• Ensures proper management of institutional funds and ensure their rational utilization and proper safe guard.
• Initiates development projects for the institution and mobilize resources for their implementation.
• Supports conduct of research and reviews necessary for the update of the institutions curriculum.
Supervises and appraises all the staff and employees of the institution and assess their performance.
• Prepares progress and summary reports for presentation and submission to the Governing Council and Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Ensures timely implementation of Government and Governing Council’s resolutions.
• Plans and chairs meetings of the institution.
• Performs any other duties assigned by the relevant authority.

Qualifications and Experience:
• A Master’s Degree in the relevant field of training,
Bachelors in Medical Education OR Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of health training.
• Diploma in Health Tutorship from a recognized Institution.
• A Minimum of twelve (12) years teaching experience in the relevant health field, three (3) of which should have been at Deputy Principal Level in a health training institution.
Registered with the relevant health professional body and Ministry of Education and Sports.
