Job Title: Senior Specialist Risk & Primary Controls
Reporting to: Manager Standards & Compliance
Division – Technology

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
To drive compliance to the different processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements to avoid any risk exposure to the department and company as a whole. This will involve liaison between both internal and external stakeholders.

Main Job Functions:
• Conduct period internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
• Ensure adherence to the Technology Resilience requirements as stipulated by MTN Group
Assess product compliance or operational risks and develop risk management strategies
• Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues
• Aid internal or external auditors in compliance reviews
• Ensure compliance to National Telecommunications Operator License requirements and MTN Group Quality of Service (QoS) standards
• Ensure Policies, Processes and Procedures are in place to support required Network security
Drive adherence to processes/procedures within Network Group and undertake research to enhance efficiency of the processes
• As part of the change Management Board, review all Network changes to ensure adherence to the change management process.
• Liaise with IT Change board for end-to-end visibility of changes on the Network
• Ensure compliance to Network Systems security standards and controls – ISO27001

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
• BSc Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering
Experience:
• A minimum of three years in Network/Service Planning or Network operations
• Experience in working with Linux environment
• Knowledge of any of the programming languages – phython, Java script, php
• Database skills
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting skills eg bash and ksh
• Proficiency in Microsoft Software (MS Excel, MS Project, MS Work, MS Power Point etc)
Training:
• Advanced Telecommunications and network technologies
• Process development/Re-engineering
Knowledge:
• Good mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities
• Lateral thinking and general systems-interconnectivity knowledge
• Good oral and written Communication skills
• Ability to negotiate effectively
• Exemplary Planning and Time Management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Must have attention to detail
