JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall purpose of the job.
To diagonise, treat and ensure proper management of patients in the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
Disease prevention and provision of counseling services
Conduct physical examination of patients and provide diagnosis.
• Initiate proper treatment for patients.
• Admit patients who need in-patient care and initiate proper management.
• Provide guidance and supervision of primary health care activities in the hospital.
• Follow up on disease outbreaks.
• Provide education and sensitization to the community incase disease outbreaks.
• Participate in the pre-employment evaluation to both new and existing employees.

Data collection and analysis
• Compile and analyse health data, undertake effective information utilization and dissemination amongst the hospital staff and company employees.

Co-ordination of work.
• Co-ordinate daily schedules with other medical officers and clinicians at the hospital in the delivery of quality health care to patients/employees.

Report writing
• Write periodic reports and submit them to the Medical Superintendent on time for onward delivery to the DDHS and other agencies.

Other duties.
• Participate in planning and budgeting for the hospital.
• Perform any other related duties as maybe assigned by the Medical
Superintendent/Management from time to time.

Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine/ Surgery from a recognized University, current Registration Certificate with Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Uganda. Training on HIV/AIDS, care with skills and knowledge on the use of Antiretroviral (ARVS) therapy is an added advantage.

Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of two (2) years working experience in a similar position.
Guiding and Counseling skills, knowledge on the use of Antiretroviral therapy and good communication skills
