Job Description


The role holder will be responsible for driving operational excellence for BAM Uganda operations by analyzing and improving organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure smooth operation of the BAM Uganda Office from a Strategic, Customer Experience, Operations and Reporting roles.
• 2. Reporting to the Board on Strategic Operations matters with regard to the business.
• Provide leadership to the Operations team and manage performance in line with the strategic goals of the organization;
• Drive effectiveness of operating systems to enhance efficiency and appreciation of the role of the systems
• Ensure that the smooth running of office operations in the areas of office procurement, IT Systems efficiency and general office management.
• Drive progress towards goal to reduce general office operation costs
• Coordinate with BAMC Investment managers and Investment Sales managers as necessary on to ensure operations support internal operations, sales operations, and customer needs
• Coordinate with Manager ICT Infra and Service on leveraging IT systems to improve efficiency
• Drive system improvement and automation of routine tasks
• Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
• Drive compliance with contractual, regulatory and efficiency requirements within BAMC operations
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:
• A Master’s degree in a Business related field
• Professional qualification is an added advantage.
• At least 6 years’ experience within the financial services industry in a busy and high performing company
• Knowledge of CMA regulatory requirements
• Extensive experience in ensuring operational risks are identified and managed.
• Significant experience in process mapping and restructuring to obtain optimal operations with a focus on cost containment.
• An understanding of leveraging technology and processes to standardise operations, reducing turn-around times on all key business processes.
• A demonstrated track record in optimising finance & operations to enhance the overall customer experience at all customer contact points.
• Knowledge of Investment products
• Sales and marketing management skills

• Facilitate functional integration;
• Ensure the development and establishment of appropriate behaviour and values (culture) within the function that aligns with the strategic direction and values of the business;
• Co-ordinate between functions and divisions to ensure optimisation of the value chain and resources;
• Ensure alignment of strategy, objectives and deliverables within the function;
• Develop innovative partnerships and distribution channels to increase Britam’s market penetration;
• Ensure a seamless experience for clients;
• Appropriately allocate funds and capital to maximise shareholder value;
• Adequately manage operational risk;
• Increase operational efficiency;
• Provide access to accurate and consistent information and services across all channels;
• Improve quality and speed of decision making across the business.
