For our office in Jinja Uganda, we are currently looking to recruit a passionate, charismatic, and creative PR and communications officer. The PR and communications officer is responsible for building and maintaining the positive image of CooP-Uganda, by a using a wide range of communication means, to shape and influence public impression and raise awareness. We are looking for a communication specialist who has experience in: – Developing PR campaigns and media relations strategies; – Collaborating with colleagues to capture key activities and stories from the field; – Documenting work in photos, videos and written stories; – Editing promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.); – Preparing and distributing press releases; – Organizing PR events; – Seeking opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising.

The applicant must be/have:
• A passion for cycling and conservation; must be able to ride a bicycle
• Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role
• Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print)
• Background in researching, writing and editing publications
• Proficient in MS Office and social media
• Familiar with video/photo editing
• Strong communication ability (oral and written)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Creativity and problem-solving aptitude
• Diploma in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field
