The Fundraising and Community Officer supports the organization’s financial sustainability and growth by planning, implementing, and managing effective fundraising campaigns and initiatives. Additional responsibilities would be to build an effective network and community, consisting of partners but also individuals to ensure that crowd funding opportunities would be effective. The ideal candidate will work closely with the rest of the team, donors, and stakeholders to secure funding for our programs, projects, and overall mission. The ideal candidate should be passionate about providing affordable housing to low-income earners. He/She will play a crucial role in supporting the rest of the team and contributing to the organization’s overall success.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage, support, and develop imaginative fundraising activities, some of which will be events based.
• Build an effective network and community of partners and individuals that follow and sponsor the organization in its mission
• Contribute to the bid writing for grant applications
• Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relations with existing supporters.
• Deliver presentations to interested groups and attend events
• Develop and broaden corporate support
• Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising ie social media
• Maintain and update the fundraising communications budgets.
• Develop and update the strategic plan to guide fundraising activities and revenue generation
• Work hand in hand with all relevant organizational units to have a good overall understanding of all revenue streams.
• Work with the Country Director to raise the organization’s profile
• Raise awareness of the organization, its services, success, and plans in the local community and through both social media and local press.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar role
• Good communications skills
