Role Purpose: The Junior Agronomist will support in defining the best soil nutrition and irrigation for coffee through the set up and follow up of demo plots. He/She will be reporting directly to the Agronomy Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities: Qualifications and Experience
• Develop demo plots protocols in the selected areas by Comparing different organic fertilisers and inorganic fertilisers, assessing the productivity gain through irrigation (with or without Irrigation)
• Select demo plot sites together with the farmers and the field team.
• Follow up and ensure accurate and systematic data collection.
• Assess the data collected and propose plans based on demo plots results.
• Any other task as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, plant science or related field.
• Experience in coffee plantation management or related agricultural field.
• Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, pest management and crop rotation.
• Fluent in English and Luganda.
• Must have impeccable character and integrity.
• Must have an eye for details.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Willingness to learn and further their qualifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
