Job Title: Legal Manager
Reports to: Head of Legal & Company Secretary

Purpose Of The Role
• Support and Deputize the Head of Legal & Company Secretary in managing the bank wide legal risk and handling Board affairs. Ensure a sound legal framework by offering in-house legal advisory services, efficient management of the legal services and support management and BRAC on legal risk generally but not limited to contractual, credit, litigation, regulatory and statutory risks.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Must possess a Bachelor of Laws Degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and possesses current valid practicing certificate, A Master’s degree in Law will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in active legal practice in both a reputable law firm and as in-house counsel in a financial institution. Must have demonstrable hands-on exposure to handling Board matters.
• Knowledge of best corporate governance practices applicable to BRAC business.
• Self-driven with a high level of confidentiality.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills and ability to conduct comprehensive legal research on a range of issues, including those of a unique and/or complex nature.
• Demonstrates discretion and sound judgment in applying legal expertise to sensitive, complex legal and administrative issues.
