Job Description
The purpose of the role is to manage company debt and customer collections as well as ensuring full compliance to the company credit policy.
Responsibilities
• Develop and monitor a credit control system in collaboration with the commercial and finance department.
• Conduct regular analysis of the credit-control system and propose changes as needed to reduce bad debt.
• Monitor customer accounts for non- payment, delayed payment, and other irregularities.
• Follow up on overdue collections and implement company collection procedures as necessary.
• Negotiate payment plans with consumers and set credit terms and conditions accordingly.
• Evaluate new credit requests, against credit ratings and advise on whether to advance credit to customer and the credit limits applicable.
• Look for ways to improve debt collection processes.
• Proactively manage debt and make collections from customers.
• Ensure that customer accounts are always reconciled, and statements availed to the customer’s monthly.
• Ensure compliance to the credit policy by all parties.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supervision of revenue accountants.
• Other duties as assigned by superiors.

Person Specification
Education, Training, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance)
• ACCA/CPA Level 2
• Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in related functions in an FMCG
• Attention to detail and highly organized.
• Analytical skills
• Good communication skills
• Hands on experience in the use of Navision accounting software.
• Reporting skills
• Organizational & interpersonal skills.
• Problem solving.
