The primary responsibility of the
• Accountant shall be to prepare and examine financial records, and to ensure that they are accurate, consistent with the University’s accounting policies and regulations as well as compliant with the best national and international best practices as per the established legal and regulatory frameworks.
• He/she shall make sure that records are prepared in time and that the University’s financial obligations are adhered to promptly.
Working in conjunction with the auditors, the Accountant shall perform overviews of the financial operations of the University in order to ensure that it runs efficiently.
• He/she shall also help and advise the University to create plans of action for its improved financial well-being.

Qualification, Experience and Skills
• Master’s Degree in the relevant field and a Bachelor of Commerce. Bachelor of Business Administration/ Management or an equivalent degree from an institution of higher learning recognized by NCHE.
• At least level two ACCA or CPA
• At least three (3) years working experience as an Accountant in a reputable organisation, preferably in an institution of higher learning
