Our client a fast-growing kindergarten and primary School with over 1500 pupils and a footstep in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono is looking for Director of Academics.
The DOS is a senior middle leader who need to have a whole year, whole key stage and whole school perspective on how a pupil can be enabled to learn effectively. This requires appreciation of pedagogy, curriculum offer, curriculum delivery model, personal development and well-being matters, social, moral, cultural spiritual development, how outstanding teaching and leaming can be achieved and how a highly positive climate for learning can be achieved and sustained

Duties
• To be responsible for the design, approval, management and quality of lesson notes, schemes of work in line with MOES curriculum
• To supervise and support the staff and pupils involved in the course of learning, for academic advancement, achievement, learning, progress and attainment of outcomes.
• Directing/drawing down/actioning support and intervention for pupils who are not making the required progress/have wider support needs.
• Addressing issues with HODs and subject teachers. – Influencing setting and setting arrangements, curriculum offer and experience for pupils and setting Performance Management targets for colleagues to ensure professional practice as a teacher becomes outstanding.

Qualifications and experience
• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in education and registered with MOES At least 3 years’ experience as DOS in medium to large school
• Computer literacy in MS Word and excel
• At least four years’ post qualified teaching experience Proven track record of leading whole school improvement Expert understanding of innovative pedagogy
