Job Description


Duties and responsibilities;
• Provide technical support on standards, planning implementation and monitoring of feasibility studies designs for water for agricultural production and other agricultural infrastructure

Support in the design process; recommend suitable crops under the prevailing irrigation systems.
• Design and implement efficient irrigation schedule and oversee maintenance of the irrigation infrastructure.
• Provide advice on the rational use of water for irrigation, maximizing revenues and increase efficiency by use of appropriate technologies;
• Support the development of strategy for operation and maintenance of the irrigation infrastructure.
• Recommend practices to enhance soil fertility and structure and prevent soil erosion.
• Collaborate with relevant departments and prepare reports on crop performance water usage and other key metrics.
• Collaborate with research institution to solve the challenges on the irrigation scheme and document success stories.
• Carry out any other assignments as may be assigned from time to time.

Academic and Experiences;
• The applicant should possess an honors’ bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (Crop) Agronomy, Agriculture, Social science agriculture land use, and management or related field.
