Job Description


TPO Uganda is a National humanitarian and Development Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has been delivering services to vulnerable communities in Uganda since 1994. This year, 2024, TPO Uganda Celebrates 30 years of transforming lives in Uganda and beyond. Our work covers; Mental, Neurological and substance use disorders (MNS); Child care and protection; Gender-Based violence prevention and mitigation; HIV/AIDS Prevention, care and support; Disaster risk prevention and response; Livelihoods support; and, Organizational development and sustainability.
Over the years, TPO Uganda has grown into a respectable National NGO with a demonstrable track record in up to 46 Districts spread across seven sub-regions as at Mat 2024.
TPO Uganda is now seeking applications for the following positions under the project;” Keeping Children Healthy and Safe” in south western Uganda

Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for providing overall technical leadership to the programs.
The project coordinator will steward the program including managing all aspects of the program implementation through liaison with implementing partners, preparing and maintaining reports, providing overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, coordination and accountability of project activities and resources.

KEY RESULT AREAS (KRA)
• Ensure effective implementation of the project at the location. This includes co-ordination of the planning and implementation of the KCHS project activities in relation to the project objectives, workplans and budgets.
• Partnership building and networking: Build and maintain positive and effective working relations between KCHS and stakeholders, local government departments as well as related organizations, private sector and institutions in the district.
• Timely reporting and meeting deadlines: Work with district-based staff to develop and submit quality and timely situational, weekly updates, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Prime Program Manager and respond to requests for information in a timely manner.
• Resource Mobilization and fund raising. Coordinate and participate in resource mobilization initiatives to support and compliment district-based projects.
• Program administration: Coordinate district program weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings to plan for and evaluate programme performance in the district and ensure availability of logistical support all the time.

Person Specifications, knowledge and experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution preferably in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• A post graduate qualification or Master’s degree in project management is an added advantage
• At-least 3-5 years’ consistent experience in a technical advisory/ support role with a large- scale NGO.
• Must have worked with local government systems, managing private/public partnerships.
• Awareness and familiarity with government policies and strategies on OVC and HIV AIDS work.
• Demonstrable training skills, development of training materials, and capacity building of community-based organizations including local governments.
• Demonstrate good report writing skills, Documentation and Record keeping.
• Experience in planning and implementing quality improvement activities
• Ability to maintain performance expectations and strong working relationships in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically & and physically stressful environments.
• Experience with and enthusiasm for on-the-job training.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet) required.
• Desire to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
