Savior Microfinance Limited (SML) is a microfinance company that is duly registered in Uganda.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled person to join our team. In the role, you will be responsible for marketing, screening, training, appraisal, disbursement, monitoring and collection of loans among other duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote SAVIOUR’s products to potential clients by creating effective marketing strategies;
- Screen applications based on established criteria, ensure adherence to program policies, and verify the accuracy of client information;
- Conduct loan appraisal for all eligible clients of all products including visiting their businesses and homes, drawing sketch maps, and inspecting the securities to be offered by the clients;
- Train clients and groups according to planned curricula;
- Ensure timely loan disbursements by completing and verifying the required documentation for each loan product;
- Participate actively in the Credit Committee for reviewing and approving loans;
- Monitor client repayments according to the agreed schedule, document any delinquent loans, and follow the procedures for loan recovery as specified in the loan policies and procedures manual;
- Prepare and submit periodic reports;
- Establish good relationships with local leaders and legal authorities that can assist in the loan appraisal and recovery process (maintain a record of contacts, such as stamps and phone numbers, for all local authorities in a specific zone);
- Perform any other duties related to this position.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in microfinance or related business course;
- At least 12 months of experience in a similar role;
- Experience working in a Microfinance or SACCO.
