Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

 

About Organisation:

CNOOC Enertech International (U) Limited is a subcontractor to one of the upstream oil and gas companies in Uganda. It provides exploration, drilling engineering, logging, underground special operations, petroleum engineering construction and other services to the oil and gas sector.

 

Job Summary:   As part of the Emergency Team, this individual shall provide Well Control Emergency services on site.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily maintenance, inspection and repair of well control emergency equipment.
  • Understand the working principle of fire pump and cutting equipment and operate well control emergency rescue equipment according to order. Be able to read equipment design drawings, and disassemble/install equipment according to equipment drawings.
  • Ensure normal operation of well control equipment and resolve failures immediately
  • In case of blowout, implement well control emergency rescue.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above with a major in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or the related
  • At least 5 years of experience in well control emergency rescue.

Additional required knowledge:

  • International well control certificate for IADC
  • H2S protection training certificate for petroleum site operation
  • Safety & survival certificate for petroleum site operation or other similar certificates.
  • With more than 5 years of well control emergency rescue experience.
  • Deep understanding of well control emergency operation.
  • Be familiar with a variety of well control emergence equipment such as fire pump, area gas monitor, thermal imager etc.
