Position: Electrician – Rolling Mill (Lugazi Plant)
TSUL is seeking a skilled and dependable Electrician to join our Rolling Mill team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems vital to rolling mill operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, quick problem-solving, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, and control panels within the Rolling Mill.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance in line with schedules.
- Monitor electrical system performance and recommend reliability and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure adherence to company safety procedures and electrical standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and equipment status reports.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to support smooth operations.
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and automation equipment where required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrical Maintenance.
- 2–3 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Experience in steel manufacturing or rolling mill operations is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and control circuits.
- Proven experience working with high- and low-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, safety standards, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
- Physically fit and able to work in a heavy industrial environment.
