Job Description

About TIko

Tiko is an African nonprofit committed to strengthening the potential and resilience of adolescent girls across Africa. We address the “Triple Threat” of unintended pregnancy, HIV infection, and sexual and gender-based violence by building local health ecosystems that provide stigma-free, no-cost, quality-assured services.

Our model brings together key local actors: community-based organizations (CBO) with peer mobilisers who act as health companions to girls; public and private health clinics that deliver care; and retail partners that redeem Tiko Miles -our behaviour-change incentive programme that rewards service uptake and feedback.

The Job

As our Experiment Officer, your primary responsibility will be driving the implementation and evaluation of innovative projects in Uganda. While this county will be your primary focus, we are seeking a dynamic professional open to occasionally extending their reach to other counties as needed. Your contributions – from working with prototypes and conducting experiments to analyzing data – will directly shape our initiatives and propel our growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Your main responsibility will be to implement and test new ideas within our Tiko markets, setting up and managing innovation ecosystems. You’ll need to work closely with local partners and ensure your projects are agile and adaptable to changes.
  • A significant part of your role will involve measuring the effectiveness of new ideas, using data collection and analysis to improve processes and enhance user experience.
  • Your projects should always keep a user-centric perspective. You’ll be expected to measure, test, and report on user experiences, ensuring our initiatives meet their needs.
  • Besides your main responsibilities, you’ll be expected to participate in and lead other projects, offering support to colleagues as needed.

About You

You have an agile mindset and embrace experimentation approaches. You continuously think from a user-centered approach and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to implement new innovation projects at Tiko.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Project Management, ideally within the Global Health sector.
  • Proven experience in implementing innovative approaches in project settings.
  • Specific expertise in managing digital health projects and conducting user research.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to document and disseminate key project learnings in formats including Case Studies, Abstracts, etc.
  • You are based in Kampala, Uganda.
