The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks. The company sales and distributes electricity in Uganda as per ERA License issued on 31 December 2024 covering over 135 political districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Government of Uganda.

UEDCL is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans to fill the following positions;

Position: Connections Quality Assurance Assistants _ Technical

Reports to: Senior Connections Officer- Quality Assurance

Supervises: None

Department: Commercial and Operations Service

Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Assistant ensures that installations, materials, and workmanship meet approved technical standards, safety requirements, and organizational procedures. The role focuses on inspection, testing, documentation, and corrective follow- up to maintain high service reliability, customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Result Areas

• Field inspection of materials and connection works to verify compliance with approved standards, identify ineligible and ensure resolution.
• Follow up on identified ineligible to confirm resolution and report repeat challenges.
• Promote adherence to safety procedures.
• Work closely with field teams and contractors to clarify quality requirements.
• Provide feedback to improve workmanship standards.
• Documentation and reporting of findings and corrective actions.

• 100% connection compliance rate with Independent Verification Agency reports
• Reduction in material and installation failures
• Inspection coverage and accuracy

Personal Specifications

Academic Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in field inspections, installations, or quality assurance.
• Electrical Installation skills up to 415V (ERA Permit – class C) is an added advantage.
