Job Description
El-Shadai Hospital is a private medical facility located at Kasenyi Entebbe, The hospital provides a 24/7 medical services schedule for almost all the specialties. Responsibilities or duties
Key Responsibilities for the hospital human resource officer
- Recruitment & Staffing: Leads and manages the hospital’s Human Resource function in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements including advertising, interviewing, and onboarding specialized medical personnel (nurses, specialists, lab technicians) and support staff.
- Extraction and preparation of Staff Contracts, JOB Descriptions, and Staff IDs: Prepare effective job descriptions and employment contracts accurately and clearly defining roles, KPIs, and reporting lines outlining salary, benefits, and legal protections (for both the employer and employee)
- Strategic support: Provide support to the hospital administrator and management on HR matters and work hand in hand with the administrator to have an organogram/organizational chart clearly showing reporting lines and approval matrix.
- Relevance of the organogram: HR department is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating the chart to reflect the current workforce, including new hires, departures, and structural changes in close collaboration with hospital administration.
- Performance Management & Development: Coordinate quarterly performance appraisals, training, and succession planning to ensure continuous staff development.
- Employee Relations & Welfare: Work had in hand with the hospital administrator to handle disciplinary matters, grievances (resolve conflict), staff welfare, and ensure a positive, highperforming working environment anchored on Integrity, Respect, Professionalism, and Excellence
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee payroll inputs, salary reviews, staff medical waivers, extra duties or overtime and benefits administration. Also manage staff Leave or vacations, develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategies that align with the hospital’s long-term objectives, workforce needs, and hospital culture with the support of Top management.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Key Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Health care management with high level experience in Human resources from recognized university.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, leadership, problem-solving and conflict resolution are very crucial for this role, along with proficiency in payroll, compliance, and talent acquisition, management, and retention.
Relevant certifications: Certification in health care Human Resources (CHHR) or General HR certification in line with hospitals operations is added advantage.
Experience needed
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in human resource management is required with preference in health care setting.
