The Clinical Officer is responsible for providing quality outpatient and inpatient clinical care through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The role involves promoting preventive healthcare, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to established clinical guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications and appropriate treatment plans.
  • Manage medical emergencies within the scope of practice.
  • Refer patients requiring specialized care to appropriate facilities.

Patient Management

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Participate in health promotion and community outreach programmes where required.

Compliance

  • Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or an equivalent qualification.
  • Valid practicing licence from the relevant professional council.

Experience

  • Previous clinical experience is an added advantage.
