Job Description
Nile Vocational Institute (NVI), Njeru Ltd is a private vocational institute established in 1988 by the African Evangelistix Enterprise (AEE) in partnership with Kindernothilfe (KNH) a German childcare organization supporting children in need. NVI is located on Plot 89-101 Buikwe Road, in Buikwe District, Njeru Town Council near Jinja City. Nile Vocational Institute invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the management position detailed below.
Overall Purpose of the Job
Responsible for enhancing the academic profile of NVI and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality academic programs that align with the Institute’s strategic goals. The DDT&A works closely with the Director to achieve the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Institute, providing academic leadership across sections, guiding curriculum development and implementation, maintaining training quality assurance, and deputizing for the Director as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Vocational studies in any relevant field (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Fashion and Design, Catering, Agriculture, etc.). Females are encouraged to apply
Professional Qualification: A Postgraduate Diploma in Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) or a Diploma in Technical Teacher Education (DTTE).
Master’s degree: In technical related field & a Post graduate
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of working experience at a level of Principal or Senior Instructor, and at least three (3) of which must be at a senior management level within an established educational institution.
Registration: Must be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports as an instructor.
Competencies
Proven ability to manage academic planning, programs, and institutional systems within Ugandan higher education.
Strong capacity to motivate, mentor, and counsel both staff and students.
High personal integrity, accountability, and professional proficiency.
Business management and networking skills
