Job Description

Joining Forces Consortium Manager

“Joining Forces” is a global collaboration between six of the world’s largest child rights organisations – Child Fund, Plan International, Save the Children, SOS Children’s Villages, Terre des Hommes and World Vision. It aims to fight for child rights and end violence against children, by working together to share learning and experiences and maximise our impact.

In Uganda, the Joining Forces alliance – led by Save the Children (SCI) – will be launching a new project to address violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect of children. During the COVID-19 crisis and in recovery phase (3 years), the intervention aims to strengthen national and local protection and response systems; work specifically with families, communities and institutions to improve child protection capabilities, attitudes and behaviours; increase the capacity and agency of children themselves to prevent and respond to violence against them; and increase learning and generate best practice related to child protection approaches.

We are looking for a Consortium Manager to head the multi-NGO Consortium. The CM leads and supports the Consortium partners’ implementations and directly oversees the implementation of the CMU and SCI’s activities. S/he will be passionate about addressing violence against children, with proven experience in managing projects and teams. S/he will build on previous work in systems strengthening at national, district and community level. S/he leads the Consortium Management Unit (CMU) which supports and coordinates the project activities of the three implementing partners and supports all six Joining Forces member organisations in joint advocacy, campaigning and stakeholder engagement
