JOB DETAILS:
PostBank Uganda Ltd (PBU), is a 100% Government owned Bank regulated by Bank of Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act, 2004. PostBank’s strategic direction is to be the financial institution of choice for the mass market with specific emphasis on players in the micro, small and medium size enterprises (MSME’s), and also along the agriculture value chain. The Bank is growing and expanding its operations, hence creating job opportunities for qualified persons to fill the position below.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this job is to lead the transformation agenda of PostBank towards a modern digitised bank. The role holder will therefore be accountable for leading the banks innovation process and leading the development of new and optimising of existing information systems and technologies that will drive service delivery to PostBank’s customers.
• Work with the COO/ED and appropriate business and operational functions on developing the Bank’s Business Technology (BT) strategy and plan, ensuring that it aligns with and supports the banks strategic and operational plan.
• Lead the project management and implementation of major change initiatives by coordinating the responsible departments to ensure smooth implementation
• Be the centre of expertise for innovation, development and implementation activities in all domains of the bank (client facing, Digital Strategy, Operations, Regulatory Implementations)
• Continuously review processes, driven by Lean and Agile ways of working to ensure that all bank processes are optimised, initiating changes to enhance innovation and commercial drive
• Coordinate and control all projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation
of major information and operations systems for the bank. Provide advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems. Evaluate systems to measure their success .
Responsibilities /Key Deliverables
• The job holder will ensure the commercial and operational readiness of all channels, and facilitate strategy formulation and execution for all customer channels
• Champion the tactical implementation of the service delivery plan to ensure best customer experience in line with the Bank’s Standard’s and metrics
• Manage supervise and coordinate all the day-to-day activities of the distribution channels.
• Ensure strategic integration of the sales and service delivery platforms to ensure that service initiatives support the sales strategy.
• Drive focus on self-service electronic channels and initiatives that ensure reduced cost of service and optimal customer convenience
• Develop and maintain an effective communication structure to manage and lead transformation of new distribution initiatives.
• Provide robust communication and feedback to the Chief Business O¬cer and Executive Management.
• Ensure that all channels are compliant with laid down risk standards
• Put in place the necessary measure to achieve satisfactory channel audit results
• Ensure all people management, operational risk management and customer service management processes are adhered to.
• Accountable for people all management matters within the function. This includes the development of teams and individuals so as to enhance performance and potential and well as effective supervision of their routine performance.
Skills
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience, 4 of which must have been in retail banking, in a senior management role.
• Must be result driven, critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and logically.
• Ability to translate strategy into achievable performance objectives
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills with good organizational and administrative skills
• Must have good negotiation, persuading and selling skills
• Has business acumen
• Sound knowledge of general banking law and practices
• Good knowledge of best practices in retail banking industry
• Understands banking operations

Job Education:
• A Business degree in finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics,
Statistics, management or any relevant field.
• Possession of a Certified banking qualification or master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
• Relevant Practical training in business growth in the financial services sector
