Job Summary

A Technician is responsible for following general instructions, drawings, specifications, standard practice and recognized methods to perform any operations needed to produce prototype and/or production composite parts, components and assemblies.

Reports to: Assembly Supervisor

Salary Scale: KT3

Key Functions

1. Follow standardized assembly procedures to assemble machined components into a finished product according to specifications/blueprints;
2. Perform visual checks to ensure the finished product meets all specifications and functionality requirements;
3. Communicate clearly and professionally with Shift Supervisor when issues arise;
4. Pack finished products as instructed;
5. Complete all needed documentation;
6. Keep a safety first mindset by following all safety rules and operating in a safe manner;
7. Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition; and
8. Any other duties assigned by the Assembly Supervisor

Person Specifications:

(a) Academic Qualifications 

1. Ordinary Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Related Field with at least Credit Class or Equivalent from a recognized Institution
2. Trade Certificate in Welding, Fitting, Machining, Mechanics or Equivalent

(b) Experience 

General Working Experience of at Least Five (5) Years; Three (3) of which should have been Served as, Machine Operator, Welder, Fitter in a Reputable Organization

(c) Competencies

1. Strong attention to detail through repetitive operations to ensure high quality throughout the assembly process;
2. Comfortable working in a cooperative, team oriented, fast paced environment;
3. Willingness to take ownership of your role including performance and attendance accountability;
4. Willingness to work on traditional and non-traditional shifts;
5. Must be willing to work both as a team player and independently;
6. lifting and carrying heavy objects;
7. Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending;
8. High mental and visual effort required; and
9. Work in, around and beneath equipment.
