Job Description


The Supply Chain Coordinator will manage all procurement activities for the SCI, ensuring all are done ethically and in compliance with SCI Policies and procedures, Government laws, and Donor Rules and Regulations.

The Supply Chain Coordinator will assist the Head of Supply Chain to improve the capacity and performance of supply chain functions and staff in SCI country and field offices on a need basis. The position holder will be responsible for providing technical support to field teams.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics
  • At least 4 years supply chain management level experience in procurement in the INGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.
  • Proven experience in all technical areas of supply chain operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, asset management.
  • Excellent report writing skills and experience in generating donor compliant reports of high quality.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching and work as a team member.
  • Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
  • Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses Computer literacy.
  • Experience in development and implementation of efficient supply chain systems, policies and procedures.
  • Technical experience/training in specific areas of supply chain management, construction project management, distribution, medical supply chain.
  • Membership of Professional body in Procurement & Supply Chain (CIPS)
