Job Description


Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for leading, managing, coaching and developing a team of Territory Managers and Retailers, ensuring delivery of the Company’s Customer Commitment, and overall Sales and Operations targets.
  • Proactively engage and manage Retailer relationships.  Liaise with and provide feedback to other Retail departments e.g. Marketing, Network, Operations Support etc.
  • Monitor delivery of Customer Commitment, and compliance to site operations / Health Safety Security & Environment standards, contracts and manuals. Implement remedial actions where necessary.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Execute the implementation and roll out of OPC and deliver the annual business agreement incomes and costs
  • Consistently deliver Customer Commitment / Super Star Service programs as required through achieving high standards of operational excellence in site standards.
  • Ensure delivery of a competitive pricing position through application of the fuels pricing strategy.
  • Improve customer satisfaction through enhancement of people’s skills/competencies. Achieve and maintain industry leadership in customer satisfaction as measured through a customer survey.
  • In conjunction with Operations Support and Territory Managers, participate in the attraction and selection of Retailers. Accountable for sign-off in respect of capability and suitability of all new Retailer recruits.
  • Continuously Coach, support and develop Territory Managers in Retailer management. Coach them as they undertake and complete Professional Accreditation development programs.
  • Through the team, ensure that Retailers have valid retailer agreements. Evaluate the performance of retailers whose agreements are about to expire to support renewal or termination decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with required Retail processes and procedures including a strong Health Safety Security & Environment culture within the Sales Team.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

  • Demonstrated evidence of the aspired Enterprise First behaviors (Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork) and our company core values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect for People)
  • Strong team building and communication skills
  • Strong team member with excellent communications skills
  • Sound Retail background and Competence, particularly in Sales & Operations. Experience in other Retail functions desirable.
  • Demonstrable sound competence in managing and leading a winning sales support team, implementing standard processes, achieving sales targets, building relationships with Shell Retailers, and delivering Shell’s Customer Commitment / Superstar Service.
