Job Description
Sim Plastics (U) Ltd is a plastics manufacturing company dealing in the production of different shapes of plastic containers mainly supplied to our sister company Movit Products Ltd.
The company is seeking to recruit a highly competent, motivated and professional individual to fill the position of Shift-In-charge.
Job Summary:
The shift in charge is the primary owner of the production work floor and is directly responsible for the implementation and execution of the daily production targets for the shift allocated using the labor and material planned.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise the assigned production shift to attain the daily production targets.
• Ensure that all machines are available and all molds are put to effective use
• Implementation of all policies and procedures, Correct and report breaches of SOPs to ensure there is best conduct on the shop floor.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all breakdowns are closed in a timely manner
• Optimally allocate and utilize manpower in a manner that doesn’t attract additional costs to the wage payroll and in a way that no additional work is extended to the next shift.
• Maintain workflow on the production line by observing control points and equipment , availability of raw materials, recording wastes and reporting breakdown in a very timely manner
• Implement quality requirements and controls to ensure quality is observed at all stages
• Participate in the hiring process of production assistants and ensure they are trained and placed effectively.
• Attend daily, weekly and monthly production meetings, document, share and implement production plans in a timely manner.
• Offer support, supervision, manage and document the performance of production assistants.
• Ensure thorough implementation of OHSE policies and procedures and cleanliness on the shop floor by ensuring adherence to 5S requirements
• Train production staff on manufacturing practices to equip them with skills to do their work well.
• Execute any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Diploma in mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering from a reputable institution of higher learning.
• Working experience of 4 years in plastic manufacturing in a similar position.
