Job Description


Sim Plastics (U) Ltd is a plastics manufacturing company dealing in the production of different shapes of plastic containers mainly supplied to our sister company Movit Products Ltd.
The company is seeking to recruit a highly competent, motivated and professional individual to fill the position of Quality Controller.
Job Summary:
The Quality Controller will be responsible for monitoring the quality of plastic items produced .The central objective of the position is to provide SPL with a strong platform to achieve its strategic goal by exceeding the client’s quality expectations as well as recovering from cost incurred during material transformation to ensure cost effective production processes.
Reporting to: Quality Control and Assurance Supervisor
Department: Quality Control and Assurance .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
● Carry out parameter checks on all products at regular intervals to ascertain conformity to set standards
● Implement quality standard operating procedures to ensure consistent good quality production
● Perform customer visits to obtain customer feedback on product quality. Put up systems to resolve concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
● Educate production employees on quality expectations and defect identification, resolution and prevention (Defect management process)
● Create and implement quality management systems that ensure quality within the manufacturing process aimed at preventing defective products and reprocessing of products
● Inform the shift in charges of any abnormality, working with the technical team to perform root cause analysis and stop the machine producing out Of tolerance products
● Perform routine inspection of all measuring and testing equipment to ensure accuracy
● Ensure proper housekeeping by immediately informing the production supervisor of any gaps identified, following up to ensure they are immediately closed.
● Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
● Approve in process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
● Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for rework and confirming rework.
● Check and verify product deliveries to the customers to ascertain if they still conform to quality requirements
● Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, obtaining and analyzing statistical data for statistical process control and feeding data into a quality database.
● Maintain a safe and healthy environment by following standards and procedure; complying with SPL OHSE Policies, Industry and other regulations.
● Accomplish quality and organizational strategic goals by fully participating in the SMF Program (MDW)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Bachelor of Science in industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or its equivalent.
● Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality controls
● 2+ years of progressive work experience in plastics manufacturing
● Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
● Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
