Job Description
Roke Telkom is a Uganda-based telecommunications company that has been fully licensed since 2006 by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) as a Public Service Provider (capacity Resale. Voice & Data) and Public infrastructure Provider.
Job title: Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
The CTO shall be responsible for all technical activities and responsibilities will include directing all
new service development, network planning. engineering and implementation/buildput. Operations management, network and service performance assurance. managing the overall support of
business development activities as a whole. The CTO will also be responsible for Opex and Capex cost management. .
Qualifications and Experience
• Telecoms engineering degree including a Masters’ degree in Business, Engineering or Management.
• Minimum of 10 years‘ experience in ICT or Telecommunications industry in management with at least 5 years with an infrastructure based service provider.
• Minimum of 3 years’ strategic management experience with strong technical and network engineering and operations skills.
• Experience with the design, deployment and operations of physical network infrastructure including wireless technology and optical fiber networks, preferably both terrestrial and underground systems
• Experience deploying and managing services delivered via network solutions using SDH. IP. Ethernet and MPLS Technologies.
• Extensive experience of Business St Operational Support Systems (BSS/OSS) and IT Applications (CRM/EHP.
• Proven experience of managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets against specific commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
• Lead and direct the teams in new product and service development, Network Planning, Engineering and Implementation, including infrastructure build out to new regions and service delivery to customer locations while managing supplier business relationships and/or partnerships across the operating countries to sustain and grow the company’s business.
• Managing the delivery of end-to end services over Company’s terrestrial networks, IP/ M PLS footprint, partner networks and data centers Br POP’s over both fiber and wireless infrastructure.
• Establish the company’s technology roadmap in line with market needs and global technology trends, assist in development of the business plan and lead all aspects of its implementation
