Job Description


Role Purpose
Working closely with the Global Credit Risk Manager and Senior Economist (GCRM & SE), the Credit Risk Data Analyst will collect and analyze relevant data from a wide variety of sources to provide practical, meaningful, and actionable insights to influence credit risk decisioning and conduct credit risk monitoring thru the identification of trends and patterns.

The Credit Risk Data Analyst will support Subsidiary Credit Risk Data Analysts (Risk Department), regarding reporting, analysis and data interpretation using statistical techniques and creating reports visualizations to support decision making in subsidiaries. He/She will execute scheduled reports and scoring processes for subsidiaries in an accurate and timely manner.

The role will also support the GCRM & SE in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting economic, social, political, and financial information to further the understanding of the environment in which the subsidiaries operate.

Accountabilities
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to:
• Loan Portfolio Assessment
• Collect credit risk related data and conduct analysis, segmentation, trending, forecasting and interpretation of risk management issues and concerns relevant to a portfolio of loan products using statistical techniques;
• Collect and aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment, and explore reasons for high or low performance;
• Create and maintain regular and ad-hoc loan portfolio reports, key risk indicators, among others
• Credit Governance
• Review and have input into subsidiary credit policies and credit policy development, review credit limits, credit concentration exposures, and ensure alignment to Global Credit Guidance;
• Assess credit portfolio stress testing practices and scenario development;
• Help develop processes and procedures for integrating Credit scoring and risk-based pricing models into underwriting operations.
• Research
• Collect and manage economic, social, political and financial sector datasets;
• Conduct analysis, identify trends, and assist in the creation of analytical reports.
• Data Management
• Create analytical datasets by performing exhaustive descriptive analysis, data cleansing and normalization, and investigation of business rules that create the data;
• Document data sources, data definitions, strategies, models, and policies;
• Develop systems and processes for gathering and storing data for future work and projects
• Develop new, improve current and automate processes & reports to be utilized in the network

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics or Data Science; advanced or graduate-level degree is preferred;
• Additional qualification/certification in Risk Management is desirable;
• Proven experience using Analytical Tools (WPS, SAS, R, Python, SQL) for data manipulation and data analysis. Miner and analytical tools certifications are desirable.

Experience
• 3+ years of experience in
• Conducting research, analysis, and evaluations of risk related information;
• Conducting credit risk-based reviews and assessments to support compliance with credit risk management policies and procedures;
• Analyzing risk management issues relevant to a portfolio of financial/credit products;
• Assessing processes and practices related to enterprise risk management and/or credit risk management programs.

Knowledge and Skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
• Ability to perform root cause analysis, recognize patterns, observe details, and report on, and apply results to “actionable insights/recommendations”;
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills;
• Able to manage simultaneously multiple projects involving various stakeholders and to deliver results within deadlines;
• High level of proficiency with MS Excel, Power BI and other Microsoft Office productivity tools.

Language Skills
• Fluency in English is required.

Travel Requirements
• Availability to travel sporadically to attend relevant meetings, in economy class when traveling by air or rail.

Location: This position will be based in Kampala, Uganda or Tbilisi, Georgia
