The Supply business is involved in the production of beer and spirits.  The Demand business is involved in marketing and selling the product through RTM partners and retailers to consumers.

The Supply department is composed of Source, Plan, Make and Move sections supported by the governance and manufacturing Excellence teams. Supply is responsible for the overall planning, sourcing, production and warehousing of finished product.

This role works closely with the planning, stores, brewing and logistics teams to ensure planning of packaging raw materials, reconciliation of their usage and proper accountability of the same.

Market situation is changing rapidly due to the economic situation, declining disposable incomes and competition for raw materials at both large and small scale levels.

The Job holder ensures that lead times for materials are met as well as effective and efficient planning for packaging raw materials.

Leadership Responsibilities

This role doesn’t have any direct reports but works closely with the Senior Technical Operators and Shift Packaging Managers with the support of the packaging manager.

Purpose of the role

Daily ordering and management of all Packaging raw materials to ensure no out of stocks or failure to meet weekly production plan demand.

Top Accountabilities

Packaging raw materials management

  • Ensure availability of stocks of all packaging raw materials, Empties and updating raw materials reports to ensure that process loss are less than 1%.

  • Daily ordering and management of all packaging raw materials to ensure no out of stocks or failure to meet weekly production plan demand.

  • Compare information on requisitions, invoices and shipping notices to material received or issued to verify accuracy of order and posting into SAP.

  • Coordinating with stores and production teams to ensure that perpetual stocks of raw materials and work in progress (WIP) are counted and that reconciled production and material usage figures are entered into the system to reflect accurate activity costs.

  • Real time posting of products in SAP and participation in monthly stock take

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Prepare daily usage reports for all packaging raw materials and call out adverse variances. Ensure plan for excessive usage or miss use of materials are implemented immediately.

  • Compare information on beer packaged and Beer issued to logistics to verify accuracy of and posting into SAP.

  • Updating weekly and monthly packaging performance reports and displaying on the notice boards.

  • Compile and circulate weekly reports on packaging raw materials inventory status to procurement and stores.

Compliance & Safety

  •  Ensure 100% compliance to weekly and monthly stock take of packaging raw materials to meet the GAR requirements and management decision

  • Observe all safety requirements and regulations as stipulated in the Company’s policy.

  • Observe good housekeeping practices as stipulated in the work instructions by sorting out and discarding the unnecessary items to designated areas in order to sustain a safe, clean and neatly arranged working environment.

Qualification, Skills and Experience Required

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement and supply chain.

Skills

  • Accounting knowledge coupled with the ability to analyse financial information

  • Ability to work with MS Excel and generate reports from it

  • Stakeholder management – ability to work with different people and bridge the gaps between Brewing and Packaging

  • End to End Materials Management with knowledge of resource planning and capacity planning

  • Practical knowledge of SAP

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a FMCG environment in a role that handles materials and or inventory management
