Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for providing financial and accounting services to Kiira Motors Corporation
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Salary Scale: K6
Key Functions:
• Posting accounting entries into the General Ledger.
• Preparing Management Accounts and any other reports as required.
• Participating in preparation of statutory company financial statements.
• Ensuring the company internal controls are adhered to and recommending any improvements.
• Filing monthly statutory returns.
• Preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements
• Preparing payments by verifying supporting documentation and requesting for and ensuring disbursement of funds in a timely manner.
• Prepare payment certificates and ensuring receipts are filed for all payments made to service providers.
• Filing payment vouchers and ensuring that all financial records are complete and securely backed up.
• Provide responses to accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, regulations and guidelines.
• Providing accounting clerical services as may be required
• Preparing Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
• Any other duties assigned by the Senior Accountant
Person Specifications:
(a) Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized Institution; and;
• At least Level II of a Professional Accountancy Course
(b) Experience
General Working Experience of at Least Three (3) Years and should have served as a Cost Accountant in a Reputable Organization for at least two (2) Years preferably in the Automotive/Manufacturing Industry.
