Job Title : Accountant – Management Accounting
Reports to: Accounts Manager
Grade : VII
Job Purpose:
The job holder will be responsible for Management Accounting.
The objective is to provide financial information to management for planning company and controlling the
company’s actions, as well as making effective decisions aligned with the business strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Perform variance analysis – compare actual Vs budget and give explanations for variances.
• Preparation of Financial & Non-financial covenants
• Handle rent expenses and update the rent register as per IFRS 16
• Handle Expected Credit Loss (ECL) expenses.
• Handle prepayments to third parties & provisions
• Prepare reports for Bank of Uganda, lenders and other stakeholders
• Prepare reports to the regulator (UMRA)
• Prepare MIS reports as required at Head office
• Any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience:
• Professional qualification in Accounting.
• Should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 3 years’ experience with financial or microfinance institution is added advantage
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Accounting applications
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Integrity
• Excellent communication skills, analytical skills and problem solving skills
