Job Summary: The Accountant will report directly to the Director in Kampala and serve as the coordinator of finance and accounts for the company across operations and products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Manage company documentation, including expense receipts, delivery documentation, employee contracts, etc. with assistance from the cashiers
• Review and submit weekly account reports on stock and finance compiled by store managers and cashiers
• Coordinate banking, payroll, and routine taxes (PAYE, VAT, and NSSF)
• Coordinate routine audit of accounts and submission of tax returns
• File invoices and follow-up with customers on receivables
• Draft and submit budgets
• Coordinate fulfillment of any requirements for financiers or donors

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in relevant Account or Finance field, CPA or ACA preferred
• Fluent English
• At least three years of experience as an accountant in Ugandan registered company
• Previous management experience or experience overseeing field activities
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Quickbooks (required)
• Good communication skills via email, phone, and report writing
• Willingness to relocate to rural area for extended periods
