Job Description
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative assistance to the department of EMS. The Ministry of Health with support from Seed Global Health seeks the services of a competent Administrative Assistant to support the department of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in meeting its set objectives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in mobilization and facilitation of the development of the EMS forum that brings together all partners and stakeholders of EMS
- Provide Administrative support for EMS COVID plans and partner coordination as appropriate
- Design appropriate systems for the implementation of the EMS systems
- Support the development of innovative EMS COVID-19 response proposals (such as partnership and advocating for onboarding interested/concerned partners, both public and private)
- Support coordination and hosting of EMS COVID-19 response meetings
- Prepare reports and ensure timely submission
- Participate in COVID-19 EMS Technical Working Group Meetings
- The Administrative Assistant will deliver tasks and assignments under the Head of EMS Department at the MoH and shall work in accordance with the procedures of MOH.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should be graduate with experience in emergency care systems development
- At least 5 years of proven experience in working with the health sector, especially in providing technical assistance for health systems strengthening, strategy formulation and review.
- Proven ability to: (i) handle multiple tasks under pressure with short deadlines; (ii) ability to work independently, seeking guidance on complex issues; and (iii) excellent interpersonal skills, proven team orientation and the ability to work across unit boundaries.
- Previous working experience in Government of Uganda is an important asset.
- Good reporting and writing skills. English proficiency is an asset.
- Experience in working with development partners is an added advantage.
