Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Engineer, Mechanization for performing the following duties:-
• Promoting appropriate farm power, tools implements and machinery according to technical specifications and conformance with environmental standards;
• Setting standards and procedures for maintenance and repairing farm power tools;
• Developing broad based statistical and observation model framework for monitoring, evaluating service, maintenance and repair;
• Maintaining an inventory for an agricultural machinery;
• Determining and specifying fabrication methods, materials and quality standards and developing the necessary designs, drawings and plans;
• Incorporating occupational safety and environmental control systems to ensure efficient, functioning of farm power tools, implements and machinery in compliance with regulations;
• Testing farm power tools, implements and machinery and related technologies in order to ensure its viability, efficiency and effectiveness;
• Disseminating proven farm power and agricultural mechanization technologies and promoting their transfer to uptake pathways for adoption and scaling up;
• Building capacity for Artisans, Operators, Mechanics and Farmers;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualification
• Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering; or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
